‘Tis the season for giving and receiving. We have all been here at some point either on the giving or receiving end and I am sure we have struggled with some kind of discomfort around receiving and giving gifts. Hopefully this week’s message will help relieve some of that discomfort.
I’m not sure why, but we have been programmed that is always better to give than to receive. There is nothing wrong with receiving. Who doesn’t like a gift every now and again!
It is exciting to find and give gifts, it’s uplifting, and brings joy to our hearts and these are the same feelings we should have as the receiver of gift.
I have learned that it is an offence to both the giver and the receiver and not a polite thing to say, “Oh, you shouldn’t have done that.” It is essential for us to welcome gifts and divine supply in all forms, if the gift is being given freely with no string attached.
True generosity has no strings attached!
Our feelings and attitude towards giving and receiving gifts can make the difference of whether or not the giver and the receiver feel richer. If we are constantly refusing gifts or favours that are lovingly offered to us, we are closing many channels of our prosperity. We are closing channels that The Divine wants us to receive.
When we give and receive gifts willingly, with no strings, no thought of need, or obligations attached, we are not only giving and receiving gifts; we are adding prosperity to both the giver and the receiver. This also applies to money that we give out whether it’s to family, employees, churches, clubs, bankers, groceries, the government, and everyone else.
The next time you receive a gift take note as to how you feel and what you say when you receive the gift. All gifts received should be welcomed with gratitude, even if you cannot use the gift do not say so; simply accept the generosity of the thought that it represents – then pass them joyfully along to someone else who could use it.
As children of The Divine we are not meant to suffer, it is our divine birthright to be prosperous in all areas of our life. So the next time we give or receive let’s do it with a love and gratitude.
Declare this affirmation often: I give thanks that all financial doors are open; all financial channels are free, and endless bounty now comes to me. Then joyously let it come.
The Lord is My Shepard, I shall not want {Psalms 23)
“All things are yours is the divine promise” (1 Corinthians 3:21)
“I shall remember Jehovah God; for it is He who giveth me power to experience wealth” (Deuteronomy 8:19)
I wish you a wonderful holiday season filled with love, happiness, prosperity, kindness, and positivity.
With Gratitude,
Minister Leona Jo
